Reily Dominy, Assistant editor October 11, 2022

Over the past few months, I have traveled across Texas to see several concerts. It is a rather expensive hobby, but it’s been totally worth every penny. I wish I could go back in time and re-experience...

Heartthrob heartache avoided with Harry Styles appearance on teen-scene

Sloan McKeehan, Staff writer September 19, 2022
Everyone in their early teens has a heartthrob, whether It was Justin Bieber or one of the Jonas brothers, I was always fan-girling over the next popular teen boy singer. I was always dreaming of Justin Bieber appearing on my doorstep and confessing his undying love for me. Then once I respond with “YES, YES, TAKE ME INTO YOUR ARMS AND NEVER LET ME GO,” he would proceed to do his choreographed song and dance while throwing rose petals at me.

Classic childhood cinematic film capitalizes on creativity

Maci Brown, Staff writer September 16, 2022
I wholeheartedly believe that Coraline is the best animated film. It's simply perfect.

An Apple a day

Christian Alvarado, Staff writer September 15, 2022
Over a year ago I discovered Fiona Apple. At first, I was apprehensive when I listened to “Fetch the Bolt Cutters” since it was so chaotic and I had never been exposed to it before. Nevertheless, I continued to go through her discography. The more I listened to her, the more I understood the raw and vulnerable emotions she shared, which has been consistent in all five of her albums over the last two decades.

Love triangle for the ages

Samantha Lamb, Staff writer September 9, 2022
The creeper in the basement and a viscount fall in love with a girl belonging to one of the least socially acceptable professions in all of France, causing three hangings, two shattered chandeliers, and one burnt down opera house. I love The Phantom of the Opera, and I have enjoyed listening to the soundtrack for as long as I can remember. I have seen it both as a play and as a movie. I love both, though each for different reasons.

Lillian Smith April 21, 2022
Mystery books are one of the most gripping genres out there, whether it be the suspense when a detective faces off with a criminal or the adrenaline rush when a victim is put into a harrowing situation. Callie Bollinger April 19, 2022

Writer’s style shines bright spot on realistic fiction genre

Courtney Lamb March 21, 2022
First of all, I do not read contemporary/realistic fiction. At all. Abbie Emmons’ 100 Days of Sunlight screams contemporary realistic fiction just by looking at the cover. The fact that I was able to get through the entirety of this embarrassingly yellow book proved it was fairly good.

Classic music longevity proves superiority over modern songs

Nathan Johanson March 10, 2022
ontinue listening to the good classics from the previous century. I have listened to newer music, but I think the best eras of music are found in the 20th century. I like most genres of music, as long as the music is older than me. Some of my favorite artists include Queen, The Beatles, Billy Joel, The Beach Boys, Michael Jackson, and Elvis Presley.

Strawberry shortcake strikes sweet spot, turns sour through decades of evolution

Reily Dominy March 9, 2022
The show and franchise Strawberry Shortcake has been a part of many generations' lives and has evolved over the past few decades to appeal to different age groups. Making its debut in 1979, the show continues to evolve today; however, it may not be for the best.

All things being equal: Queen still reigns on small screen

Jasmine Samis March 9, 2022
I’m the type of person who ends up getting tired or bored with certain television shows, especially if they have something to do with crime. However, there’s one show that’s changed my perspective: The Equalizer.
