Trends quickly come and go, whether it be clothing or hair styles, games, apps, or technology. Candy Crush was huge for about half a decade before it suddenly disappeared. Chevron clothing was popular in the 2000s-2010s, and hopefully will NOT make a comeback. Tumblr was huge in that same time period, but quickly vanished off the face of the earth (which is probably for the best.) However there are some trends that are much more short lived and enjoyable, like the recent online game Wordle.

Everyone might associate celebrity crushes with obsessive pre-teens, but that is not true. Everyone has them, and I mean everyone. If someone says they don’t have one, they are lying and they just don’t want to admit it. Whether they are 5, 17, 45, or even 80 years old, they have a celebrity crush. I believe that even when I am an 80-year-old woman I will still have a long list of celebrity crushes and I don’t want to imagine how many more people I will add on in the future.

Putting together a musical in just a few weeks is already a huge challenge, but that task is made more difficult when weather complications and the spread of an illness arise. This was unfortunately the case with this year’s production of The Little Mermaid, with an ice storm hitting Bryan right before opening night and with at least 10 cast members out with COVID at some point during the rehearsal.

That’s why junior Mason Rice was so intrigued when his former media director brought a drone to church, and inspired to pursue drones as a hobby and potentially a source of income.

HOSA student advances to region in nursing assisting competition

Junior Rebecca Torres placed 1st during the regional competition for Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) and will advance to the state competition at the end of April. The organization aims to promote career opportunities in the health industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. Rebecca competed in the Nursing Assisting event which required both a hands-on portion and a multiple choice portion.

New football coach hopes to bring energy, focus to team

Head football coach Ricky Tullos has been coaching for 21 years and has been a head coach for 14. This is Tullos’s first year as the new head coach for the Vikings and he appreciates the opportunities and traditions already in place at Bryan High.
