The Daughters of the American Revolution are extending an invitation to students in grades 9-12 to participate in the Christopher Columbus Essay Contest. There will be one winner from this area will be automatically submitted to the state competition. The state winner will then be submitted to the national contest. The national winner will receive $1,200 and a trip to Washington D.C. to be recognized. The deadline to submit essays is December 1, 2011. More information is available in the Go Center.
