The Coalition is a diverse group of more than 140 distinguished colleges and universities that is committed to making college a reality for all high school students through a set of free online college planning tools. So it’s comparable to ApplyTexas or the Common Application except that it comes with resources that help students start getting ready for college as early as the 9th grade.
There are five Texas schools that take the Coalition Application (A&M and UT included), and they’re adding new schools on a regular basis (see a list here). Coalition schools are committed to making college accessible to all students, particularly those from historically under-represented groups.
The event on November 16 is essentially a mini college fair that will be held on campus during the school day. Students will get to learn more about the Coalition, register for an account, and visit with college reps.
