The boys swimming and diving team placed second overall at the District 18-6A Swimming and Diving Championship Meet held at the Cy-Fair Natatorium in Houston.
The boys were led by Ayden Ayers who placed 1st in the 100 Backstroke and 2nd in 1-meter diving, Hayden Moreno placed 1st in 1-meter diving and 8th in the 100 breaststroke, James Coppernoll placed 2nd in the 100 butterfly and 3rd in the 200 Individual Medley, Cannon Bogert placed 2nd in both the 50 and 100 freestyle, Oliver Smith was 3rd in the 500 freestyle and 4th in the 200 freestyle, and Adam Espinoza placed 4th in the 100 Butterfly. The 400 Freestyle Relay team of Ayers, Smith, Moreno and Bogert placed 2nd. The 200 Medley Relay of Ayers, Moreno, Coppernoll and Espinoza placed 3rd and the 200 freestyle relay placed 4th.
The Viking girls placed 3rd overall and were led by Paiten Evans’ 1st place finish in the 1-meter diving and 2nd place in the 100 butterfly. Rachel Hutchinson placed 1st in the 100 freestyle and 2nd in the 50 freestyle, Abigail Martin was 1st in the 100 Backstroke and 3rd in the 200 Individual Medley, Rebecca Hutchinson placed 2nd in the 500 freestyle and 4th in the 200 freestyle. Cayla Jimenez placed 2nd in the 1 meter diving. The 200 medley relay team of Martin, Rachel Walton, Evans and Jimenez placed 2nd while both the 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams placed 3rd with Rachel and Rebecca Hutchinson, Evans, Jimenez, Martin and Parker Hines.
