The girls’ swimming and diving team placed second overall at the District 18-6A Meet held at the Prigeon Natatorium in Houston Texas.
Bryan was by far the smallest team at the meet, but all 7 girls attending the meet were named All-District by placing in the top 8 in individual events and all three relays placed in the top 4.
All seven girls also qualified for the Region V-6A Meet to be held January 30-February 2.
Cayla Jimenez placed first in 1 meter diving and was awarded the Outstanding Female Diver Plaque for the meet. Selah Pilkington placed second in the 100 meter breaststroke and third in the 100 freestyle. Rachel Hutchinson was second in the 500 freestyle and fourth in the 200 Individual Medley. K’Lee Rudd was third in the 50 freestyle and fourth in the 100 backstroke. Elizabeth Tag placed fourth in the 100 breaststroke and 8th in the 50 freestyle. Paiten Evans placed 5th in the 100 butterfly and Abigail Martin was 8th in the 100 Backstroke.
The Bryan boys team placed 6th overall and were led by Ayden Ayers 2nd place finish in one meter diving and 7th place finish in the 100 backstroke. Hayden Moreno was 3rd in the 100 freestyle and 7th in the 100 breaststroke. All three relays placed 6th at the meet. Ayers and Moreno will be moving on to regionals in individual events and will be joined by Ethan Donner, Adam Espinoza, and Cole Cary in relays.
