In San Marcos, the Lady Viking Volleyball team came home with a 2nd Place title in the 2011 Century Link Ragin’ Rattler volleyball tournament after defeating Second Baptist and Temple on Saturday.

During pool play on Friday, Bryan went 2-1 after falling to Mansfield (19-25, 12-25) and then defeating both Navarro (25-23, 25-20) and Fort Bend Baptist (25-19, 25-15). Junior Reagan Boenker led the Vikings for the day with 30 kills and 27 digs. Sophomore Jessica Pfeffer had 16 kills and 11 digs for the day and junior Abby Cullen had 7 kills, 13 digs, and 51 assists for day. Junior Brittany Little had a total of 26 digs, and sophomore Erica Russell added 14.

Saturday, in the first match, Bryan defeated Second Baptist 25-22, 22-25, 25-13. Then, the Vikings beat Temple in the second match 25-23, 25-25. In the championship match, Bryan fell to Brennan (Northside ISD – San Antonio) in the championship match 15-25, 25-23, 22-25. Boenker was named to the all-tournament team.

The Lady Viking Volleyball team plays next in Hunstville on Tuesday.
