In their fifth games of the season, the Freshman Blue and both Junior Varsity Football teams claimed victories this week. JV Blue won 50-23 against Killeen Shoemaker, JV Silver 9-6 against Pflugerville Hendrickson and Freshman Blue 24-12 against Killeen Shoemaker. Freshman silver fell to Killeen Shoemaker 0-26.
For JV Blue, junior Stephon Ellis scored a 30-yard touchdown on a fumble recovery. Sophomore Bobby Johnson ran the ball in for two touchdowns, one for 16 and the other for 21 yards, and also returned a kickoff for a touchdown. Junior Ryan Way made a two-pint conversion run, ran for an 8-yard touchdown and completed a 52-yard touchdown pass to Johnson. Junior Damian Wilson scored on a 14-yard touchdown run, while sophomore Corey Johnson successfully the extra point six times. Defensively, junior Alex Garcia and sophomores DJ McCoy and Keaton Sims each recovered a fumble.
Offensively, JV Silver scored by way of Alex Harris on a 63-yard kickoff return with sophomore Anthony Salinas completing the extra point. Sophomore Julio Martinez made a tackle for a safety. Defensively, sophomore Henry Brandesky recovered a fumble.
Freshman Keandre Johnson scored on a 2-yard and 25-yard touchdown run for the Freshman Blue team. Qualyan Newton also completed a touchdown on an 11-yard run. Coleman Johnson made a 2-point conversion and Jimmy Thomas recovered a fumble.
Junior Varsity plays A&M Consolidated October 6 at Merril Green Stadium beginning at 5:00 P.M.
