Softball swings big over Spring Break

The softball team went 2-1 for their games during Spring Break. On Monday the team traveled to Temple of an afternoon game. Senior Hannah Parker suffered her first loss of the season as Temple prevailed 2-0.

The Lady Vikings then traveled to Copperas Cove for a game later that same night. The offense came alive as the lady Vikings pounded out 19 hits; including a school record four home runs, to blast the Bulldogs 16-4. Seniors Kenna Buxbaum and Meagan Kraatz both hit their second home runs of the year, sophomore Erica Russell hit her first of the year. Junior Reagan Boenker hit her third home run of the year which moved her to the number one spot on the career home run list. Parker would get back on the winning column in relief improving her record to 8-1.

On Tuesday, the Lady Vikings played at home where they run ruled Harker Heights 12-0 in five innings. Sophomore Rebecca Peirce improved to 4-1 and threw her first career no-hitter. Junior Brittney Jones led the offense going 2-3 with a run scored.

The Lady Vikings are now 17-3, 4-1 in district.
