The UIL academic team competed in the Belton Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Senior Noel Tate placed 1st in Computer Applications, while sophomore Andy Ramirez placed 3rd.
The Journalism Team consisting of juniors Alanis King, Andrea Mendes, Maurissa Ramirez, Justin Sanders and Emily Nash took home the 1st place team award.
Individually, King placed 1st in Editorial Writing and Headline Writing. Mendes placed 3rd in Editorial Writing and 4th in Feature Writing. Ramirez placed 3rd in Feature Writing. Sanders placed 2nd in News Writing and Headline Writing. Nash placed 2nd in Feature Writing and 3rd in Headline Writing.
