Volleyball score update


The Lady Viking Volleyball teams played the Rudder Rangers. The Freshmen B team defeated the Rangers 25-16, 24-26, 25-21. The Freshmen A team beat Rudder 25-17, 25-20. The Junior Varsity took the Rangers in 2 sets 25-20, 25-20. The Varsity team came couldn’t quite contain Rudder scoring and lost in 3 sets, 15-25, 7-25, 21-25. Hannah Eike led the Vikings with kills with 9, followed by Emily Hubacek with 8. Eike also contributed 8 assists, 5 digs, and 2 blocks. Katie Scott added another 10 assists and Madelyn Luera led the defense with 12 digs.


The Lady Viking Volleyball teams played the A&M Consolidated Tigers at Viking Gymnasium. The Freshmen team worked hard to contain the Tigers, but were defeated 12-25, 19-25. The Junior Varsity took the Tigers to 3 sets, winning 22-25, 27-25, 25-18. The Varsity team defeated Consol in 3 sets 25-16, 18-25, 25-20. Emily Hubacek and Hannah Eike led the offense with 11 kills each. Hannah added 12 assists and 2 aces, with Katie Scott putting up another 16 assists. Madelyn Luera piloted the Lady Vikings on the defensive end with 13 digs and Eike adding another 11.


The Lady Viking Volleyball team started the second round district play against College Station, playing the Lady Cougars. The Freshmen B Team fell to the Cougars 3-25, 18-25. The Freshmen A Team came up short 19-25, 8-25. The Junior Varsity team failed to clench the match 6-25, 17-25. The Varsity team came out strong in their attack against the Cougars. Hannah Eike led the Lady Vikings with 7 kills, 7 assists, and 5 blocks, with Emily Hubacek and Katie Scott aiding the offensive attack with 7 kills and 13 assists respectively. On the defensive end, Madelyn Luera led the way with 19 digs. The Lady Vikings couldn’t quite hold the Cougars and were defeated 20-25, 22-25, 23-25.
