Lady viking volleyball finishes district play with a win


The Lady Viking Volleyball teams finished District against the Huntsville Hornets The Freshmen team was defeated 22-25, 22-25. The Junior Varsity defeated Huntsville 25-16, 25-23. The Varsity team won in 4 sets 24-26, 25-14, 25-18, 25-23. Emily Hubacek and Hannah Eike led the offense with 14 and 12 kills respectively. Hannah added 17 assists, and Katie Scott contributed another 22 assists. Madelyn Luera piloted the Lady Vikings on the defensive end with 26 digs with Hubacek adding 21 more. The Lady Vikings will be advancing to the playoffs playing the Hutto Hippos in the first round.

The Lady Viking Volleyball faced the Caney Creek Panthers where the Freshmen A team lost 18-25, 10-25, the JV team won 25-12, 25-12, and the Varsity won 25-12, 25-13, 25-23. Hannah Eike led the Lady Vikings offensively, hammering down 11 kills and putting up 17 assists. Natalie Buban contributed an additonal 10 kills, and Katie Scott added another 17 assists. On the defensive end, Madelyn Luera racked up 17 digs.

The Lady Viking Volleyball team traveled to Livingston to play the Lions where he Freshmen A team battled , but fell short 20-25, 16-25. The JV won in 2 sets 25-19, 28-26. The Varsity team won in 4 sets 25-11, 23-25, 25-18, 25-8. The offensive attack was lead by Hannah Eike and Emily Hubacek racking up 18 and 16 kills respectively. Katie Scott boosted the offense with 30 assists and 2 aces. Madelyn Luera led the defense 13 digs and also contributed 2 aces.
