The Bryan High Color Guard and Viking Indoor Percussion ended their competitive seasons on the winner’s podium this past weekend as State Championship Bronze Medalists in their respective classes.
The Bryan Color Guard is the Texas Color Guard Circuit Scholastic National A Bronze Medalist following competition this past Saturday at Reed Arena on the Texas A&M campus.
Viking Indoor Percussion (VIP) followed suit on Sunday, placing third in its class, Scholastic Marching A Blue, marking its strongest finish in its highest level of competition, ever.
These achievements are made greater by the fact that the number of groups competing in both classifications was at an all-time high this year.
In addition, these students were part of a substantial group of volunteers from both BHS and College Station High School that managed the Texas Color Guard Circuit State Championships over the course of two and a half days. This massive event brings 3000+ visitors to Reed, Texas A&M and the Bryan/College Station area, annually. Suffice it to say, it has been a long, tiring weekend but, also, a long successful season.
