The wrestling team opened its season Wednesday night at Klein Oak High School in Spring. The boys varsity came up a few point short in the loss to the Klein Oak Panthers 27-35.
David Frazier (152) earned a pin and Andres Gonzalez (113), Dustine Korzynski (138), Caden Scott (145), Mario Vasquez (195), and Kemonte Ross (220) all won their matches.
The Lady Viking wrestlers won 2 of the 3 matches they competed in. Cynthia Garcia (110) won by decision and Mikayla Hodnett (138) won by pin.
For the JV boys team, Christian Medina (145) won by Pin. Caden DeJesus(132), Steven Salinas (138), and Donny Hernandez (160) all won their matches by decision.
The team will be back on the mat competing Saturday at The Bobcat Open at Cy Fair High School. Weigh in will be at 7 and wrestling begins at 8am.
