Putting together a musical in just a few weeks is already a huge challenge, but that task is made more difficult when weather complications and the spread of an illness arise. This was unfortunately the case with this year’s production of The Little Mermaid, with an ice storm hitting Bryan right before opening night and with at least 10 cast members out with COVID at some point during the rehearsal.

Sometimes the best thing to do on the weekend is binge classic movies. Some of my favorites have one thing in common - John Travolta. Grease, Hairspray, and Urban Cowboys all showcase Travolta’s range of acting skills through superb storytelling. Travolta is loved world-wide, whether it's for his more serious action-filled roles or for his goofy ones. 

Production brings unity among cast, displays aspects of fine arts

Every day, students come to school and are given piles of assignments to complete that night. After putting on The Sound of Music earlier this month, many students have found that participating in the musical has given them a way to be expressive and build unity between those involved.

Musical tickets on sale now

Tickets for the Fine Arts department's spring musical, The Wizard of Oz, are on sale now. The show will be from February 3 - 6 at the Bryan Civic Auditorium. Pre-sale tickets cost $7 for students and $10 for adults. All tickets are $12 at the door. Tickets can be purchased from any cast or crew member, or in the Choir room.
