Viking prom closet blesses senior through community support

When the district announced that prom would take place this year for seniors, many were concerned about the expenses of the event given the financial crisis caused by COVID-19. Senior English teacher Stephanie Manry immediately wanted to help and put feelers out to her Facebook friends about donations for prom. Once donations started coming in, the prom closet was set up and students were able to shop for their perfect outfits.

Prom: outrageous expenses are not inevitable

It’s that time of year again - the excitement of prom is in the air, and the majority of junior and senior girls are beginning their search for the perfect dress. After a suitable dress is found, then comes the hair dying, spray tanning, and nail painting, all in preparation for the big day. While all of this can be exciting, the cost of prom has a tendency to take away some of the fun of the event. However, this does not have to be the case.

Prom decoration meeting scheduled for Saturday

All juniors are invited to help with prom decorations on Saturday, April 14. Students will meet at the front of the Blue Campus at 8:30 am and are encouraged to bring family members or friends to help with the decorations.

Princess Project provides prom dresses

The Princess Project of B/CS provides free prom dresses to juniors and seniors of the Brazos Valley that would otherwise not be able to attend their prom for financial reasons. There is no cost to the young ladies and the organization is supported 100% by donations for the community.
