Now on to the bottom half of an outfit. Whether you like it or not, denim is a must have. Without explanation, jeans are probably the most practical clothing item found in one’s closet. However, jeans are frequently disliked because they’re perceived to be uncomfortable. Personally, I don’t think there’s a reason to blame jeans for this problem since there are so many different kinds. If your jeans are uncomfortable then you haven’t found the right pair yet, keep looking.
Tights are such an important item to have in your closet and personally, my favorite staple item because they are so comfortable and easy to throw on under a skirt, dress, or shorts to add modesty or a twist to an outfit. You can even wear tights under pants for a bit of extra warmth if needed. If you’re searching for comfortable bottoms to wear that are versatile with any outfit, leggings would be your best bet. They come in all different colors, patterns, and materials like leather, spandex, cotton, lace, or wool. Although there is a bit of controversy on whether leggings as pants are acceptable, I personally have no problem with it. As long as they are thick enough and the shirt‘s length is long enough to cover your bum, wear them.
What item can you tuck virtually any T-shirt or blouse into to instantly add a feminine touch to your outfit? A black skirt, for a girl, is a life saver when it comes to dressing up an outfit and is just nice to have when you are feeling a bit girlish.
The only dress that every lady should have hanging in her closet is a LBD, a little black dress. As simple as a little black dress can be, no matter what style, it will always be seen as one of the most glamorously elegant pieces in a girl’s closet. No matter what year it is, or what time, the little black dress will always be a staple.
Now for accessories. Without a doubt, a knitted scarf would have to be a closet essential. They are perfect for chilly weather and keeping warm while adding a stylish accent to even the simplest of outfits. Even if a girl is wearing just a plain T-shirt and jeans, when a scarf is added, somehow that person automatically looks incredibly stylish. The next piece added to this list of closet staples is a personal preference that some may not agree with, I think that a beanie is super important. Beanies, when added, can tie an outfit together and, like scarfs, are instantly taken as a fashion statement. They can also dress down an outfit because of their slouchy, laid back style. Plus they keep your ears and head warm when its cold, but really you can wear a beanie in any season.
The last accessory a girl just has to have is a set of pearls. A pearl necklace is an accessory that you can never go wrong with. Worn with any outfit, pearls immediately add timeless elegance. Depending on where you buy them, they don’t have to be too pricey which is always a plus.
Finally, there are five specific pairs of shoes that you can’t live without. The first being a pair of leather boots. Whether you prefer riding boots or boots that only come up to the ankle, they are essential. Even though leather boots can be on the pricey side, they are most definitely worth the money because they are extremely versatile and durable. The next shoe would have to be a comfortable pair of pumps (emphasis on the comfortable) because every girl needs a nice high heel to jazz up either a pair of trousers or a pretty dress. A cute pair of sandals is also nice to have for summer or spring time. They are nice and cool and easy to just step into and go. Another easy “step in and go” shoe is a nice pair of flats. Whether its ballet flats or loafers they are nice to slip in to when you’re in a hurry and they also look nice with practically and outfit. The last type of shoe is on the more casual side. The classic sneaker rounds out the list of must have shoes. You can wear them with jeans, leggings, tights, high socks, trousers, basically anything. They always give off a cool and relaxed vibe and come in virtually any color or pattern. The best thing about them is the more worn in they look, the better. Which means they basically become cooler and cooler each day you wear them.
Now that you know all the necessary pieces to have in your closet, you can start adding your own personal twist or preference. You can change up your personal style to how you want people to perceive you and most importantly how you want to see yourself.
