Senior John Fuller advanced to the state meet by placing 1st in Editorial Writing and 3rd in News Writing at the regional UIL academic meet in Waco on Saturday. State will be held at the University of Texas in Austin on May 21.
Also competing Saturday were junior Emma Raleigh in News Writing and freshman Jesse Baxter in Editorial Writing. Fuller competed in all four journalism events: News, Feature, Editorial and Headline Writing.
Fuller’s two awards secured the 2nd place team award for Bryan High at region.
