A. REPORTING TIME FOR GRADUATION SERVICE: All participants of the graduation service must be at Reed Arena in the Multi-purpose Meeting Room by 3:30 PM on Saturday, June 1st, 2013. The Multi-purpose Meeting Room is on the lower level inside the front door facing the TAMU campus. Roll call for graduates will begin promptly at 3:30 PM. Please remember to allow time for crowded parking and traffic conditions. You may park in all areas except those designated as a 24-hour tow-away zone.

B. CAPS, GOWNS AND DIPLOMAS: Caps and gowns have been issued. Check your package to make sure that you have a tassel and the correct size gown. Gowns should be pressed with a cool iron and hung overnight. No decorations of any kind will be allowed on graduation cap or gowns. The tassel should be worn on the left side of the cap. If you have any additional needs with these items, a Balfour Company representative will be in the assembly area at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 1st, 2013 to assist you.

C. CLOTHING: A graduation service should be dignified and meaningful for each student; therefore, we ask that the clothing attire worn by each student adhere to the rules of good taste by being conservative and in line with the BISD Dress Code and the following:

Young Men should wear dark slacks, white shirts, dark ties, dark shoes and socks. The gowns for men are designed to be worn with shirts and ties. Hair should be neatly trimmed, well groomed and in compliance with the dress code. Do not wear flip-flops, shorts, caps, or any head covering other than the graduation cap.
Young Ladies should wear an appropriate length skirt or dress under the gown. Young ladies also should wear dark shoes. Do not wear flip-flops, house shoes, flowers or jewelry on your gown. Please remember ladies, if you are going to wear high heels, be sure that they are an appropriate height, because you will be walking up and down stairs and across the stage.

FINAL REMINDERS: You are expected to follow these instructions for dress and conduct or forfeit your privilege of participation in the graduation service. Conduct during the graduation service is a part of the total success in graduation. Your cooperation is desired and expected. Also, please remember that you must have all records clear before graduation. All records must be clear by 3:00 PM on Thursday, May 30th, 2013. All transcripts will be held until records are clear and all issued textbooks have been turned in.

*Students who are out of compliance with these guidelines or who are in possession of noisemakers, under the influence, or participate in any disorderly stage conduct will be pulled from the graduation lineup and will not participate in the remainder of the ceremony nor receive their diploma.
