Viking volleyball can’t hold off Cougars

The Lady Viking Volleyball team opened district play Friday night at home facing the College Station Lady Cougars.
The Freshmen B Team fell to the Cougars 10-25, 15-25. The Freshmen A Team also came up short 13-25, 24-26.
The Junior Varsity team failed to clench their match 22-25, 17-25.
The Varsity team came out strong in their attack against the Cougars. Hannah Eike led the Lady Vikings with 11 kills, 8 assists, 2 blocks, and an ace, with Emily Hubacek and Katie Scott aiding the offensive attack with 9 kills and 18 assists respectively. On the defensive end, Madelyn Luera led the way with 23 digs. The Lady Vikings couldn’t hold the Cougars and were defeated 24-26, 14-25, 21-25.
The Lady Vikings will be in action again on Tuesday when they take on the A&M Consolidated Tigers.
