How to join the Bryan High IB Diploma Programme

The IB Program at Bryan High School begins in the junior year. To be as prepared as possible, students should take a sequence of rigorous courses in the 8th, 9th, and 10th grades. For this reason, students not zoned for Bryan High School may attend Bryan High beginning in the 9th grade to ensure a seamless transition to the Diploma Programme. Students should complete the following steps:

Current IB or PreIB students in 10th or 11th grade need to fill out the “Continuing in a Program Confirmation” found here. It is also posted on transfers.bryanisd.org. The due date for this is March 2, 2018. This will be compared to students’ course selections to confirm their participation in the IB program. Families will receive an acceptance letter and contract, to be sent out no later than March 20, 2018. Student and parents must sign and return the form to Sarah Patterson by April 2, 2018.

Current 8th graders, 9th graders, and students new to IB (grades 10 and 11) should complete out an IB Application. This, along with all of its components (form, report cards, state scores, and essay) is due to Sarah Patterson by March 2, 2018. If zoned for Rudder, students must also complete a transfer application. Decision letters will be mailed no later than March 20, 2018. Students and parents must complete the decision letter and return it to Sarah Patterson by April 2, 2018.

Currently, students residing outside of the Bryan ISD attendance zone are not eligible to attend Bryan High School for the IB program.
