The Lady Viking Golf team participated in the 18-5A district golf tournament held at Pebble Creek Country Club in College Station last week.

On day one, senior Ellie Conrad finished her round with a score of 92 and sophomore Skye Faldyn scored a 123. After round 1 Ellie was sitting 5th individually and tied for 1st for a spot to move on to the regional tournament.

On day two Falydn bettered her day one score by 11 strokes to shoot a 112. She had a two day total of a 235. Conrad scored a 97 on day two to finish a 189 to earn 5th overall. Ellie made 1st team all-district and and advanced to the regional tournament.

The boys then traveled to competed in the District 18-5A tournament at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco TX.

On the first day of competition senior Justin Carver scored a 79, senior Wes Nolen scored a 79, senior Devin Mendez scored a 81, senior Jayden Weaver scored a 82, junior Ryan Wilson scored a 78, and junior Dylan Hall scored 89. The day one team total was 317 to lead the tournament by 15 strokes.

On the second day of competition Nolen and Mendez both shot 72, Wilson scored a 77, Justin Carver scored a 80, and Jayden Weaver scored a 84. Medalist Hall scored a 85. The day two team total was a 301 which is the best team score this year.

The boys team earned 1st at the district tournament by 28 strokes and will move on to play in the region event to be held at La Torretta Resort in Montgomery TX.
