Growing up I was always the biggest Zendaya fan. In every show or movie she had a main character role. I mean who wouldn’t love her; she is a triple threat: singing, dancing, and acting. She’s widely...

Psychological diagnosis: TV show excels at creating intrigue through suspense, human behavior

Arissa Mejia January 31, 2020
Drama. Mystery. Thriller. My top three favorite genres of all time when it comes to entertainment, and combined together into one show, it’s nearly perfect. Criminal Minds captures all three of these genres which makes the show my favorite show of all time. The show is the right mix of intrigue and suspense.

Coffee, coffee, coffee: Gilmore Girls hype returns through Netflix binge watching

Megan Krenek November 13, 2019
After a TV show’s finale premiers, the show tends to surge in popularity and then soon be forgotten. Occasionally though, a gem among the other crappy Netflix originals is found which puts viewers in an autumnal mood. Gilmore Girls is a show that can be easily lived and admired, and I think that’s one of the reasons I love it. It’s not too serious and most of the lines in the show are said in a sarcastic tone. References about old movies and songs are made and classics are brought up out of nowhere. It’s a comfortable show to watch. It’s the type of show that viewers can watch without thinking too much. I don’t have to seriously analyze what is going on, I can just sit back and chill.

Audience mourns season 8: Mediocre season leaves audiences disappointed, hopeful for resurrection

Daniel Lugo January 25, 2019
I’ve been watching The Walking Dead since the Season 1 premiere in 2010, and ever since then, I have been a long-time super-fan of the AMC drama/horror series. While it is a great show, there have definitely been some flaws in the writing over time, and some mistakes are bigger than others.

Walking Dead breathes new life into zombie genre

Emily Phariss April 2, 2018
Most people think shows about zombies are all the same; they believe that all zombie TV shows and movies centralize around a pandemic and those that aren't infected attempting to survive. The main focus is the protagonist's skill and their ability to save themselves in seemingly impossible situations. Although this might be a run-of-the-mill case for many zombie movies, it isn’t for The Walking Dead.

Nine-nine problems but comedy ain’t one

Lucy Raleigh February 24, 2018
Investigations, perpetrators, sirens, and drama: all essential components to the American cop show. On today’s television networks, shows like N.C.I.S. and C.S.I. dominate the police and crime genre, keeping up with the intense drama that surrounds the life of police officers, detectives, and other types of law enforcement. But what if the life of a cop wasn’t all intense interrogation scenes and old men brooding over cups of coffee and unbreakable cases? Fox’s Brooklyn Nine Nine broke the mold for the typical cop show when it was released in September 2013, trading in the same boring drama for comedy.

Second season stranger than first: Netflix original series continues to captivate audiences

Megan Krenek January 17, 2018
CAUTION: Spoilers ahead! Every nerd’s dream-show finally returned to Netflix for a second season, filled with “Dungeons and Dragons” references, telepathy, and my personal favorite-government conspiracies. If you haven’t guessed what show I’m referring to, then get out from under that metaphorical rock and watch Stranger Things. Season two of Stranger Things just came out and after watching it, I have so many questions.
