No lip service

Ranking chapstick from loser to luscious
No+lip+service

I cannot stand when my lips peel or crack. I would rather have tangled, unbrushed hair than dry lips.

With my obsession with lip care, I have tried many different kinds of chapsticks, lip masks, and exfoliants. That being said, I have a definitive list of chapsticks I love and chapsticks I loathe.

Hands down the worst chapstick is Carmex. This chapstick just doesn’t work-chapstick isn’t supposed to make you feel like your lips live on the sun.

Everytime I smell the awful scent that accompanies this terrible chapstick, I get flashbacks to my lips being scorched off by the terrible formula the creators of Carmex crafted. I truly believe that this chapstick is a mean practical joke meant to hurt people, not help them. I give Carmex a solid 0/10.

Next up is EOS. Everyone remembers those balls of chapstick that got everywhere on your face when you applied it, right? Those chapsticks did nothing for me except dry out my lips and make my face greasy.

Sure, the smells were good, but I don’t think anyone needs to put an artificial watermelon flavor on their lips. As a society, we can’t really expect something that smells like that to help with chapped lips. I give this chapstick a 2/10.

The next chapstick is not one I necessarily hate; it just isn’t one I would reach for. And that is the original brand, Chapstick.

These chapsticks are not bad at all, but they just are not memorable. There are, again, too many weird flavors, and do we really need seasonal chapstick?

Their packaging is also not my favorite. Every time I have used this brand, the container somehow breaks, and I am not into that.

The chapstick is also so soft that it constantly breaks when I try to use it. I also have a problem with the small cap. You cannot tell me that you haven’t lost the cap to a Chapstick before. They are so small and get lost in seconds. I give this chapstick a 4/10.

The next chapstick is in my top 3. Burt’s Bees. This chapstick works really well, and it is natural.

The flavors are subtle and somewhat normal; no peppermint berry bark, or chocolate sundae fountain, or whatever odd flavors other brands use.

The chapstick has okay hydration and doesn’t make my lips burn which can’t be said about other brands (I hate you Carmex).

The one complaint I have about this chapstick is that it doesn’t last a long time, but other than that it is a good option for hydrating lips. This one gets a 7/10.

This next chapstick is my second favorite ever, and it is Aquaphor. This stuff is the real deal. It is hydrating, it can heal cracked lips, and it lasts forever.
I cannot say enough good things about this brand. It has so many more uses other than just lips. I put it on my face and on my eyelashes.

I’m OBSESSED with all the different packages it comes in. There are tubs, sticks, tubes, and even sprays. The one warning I can give anyone who is buying this is do not wear it to the beach, or in the sun for an extended period of time, or you will get second degree burns on your lips.

I use this as a chapstick when I need to really hydrate, especially in the winter. Aquaphor gets a 9/10.

Now for the grand reveal, my favorite, ride-or-die brand for lips….Vaseline.

I love this brand and everything it does for me. I use the Rosy Lips and Cocoa Butter Vaseline, and let me tell you, it works for me everytime. It is the most hydrating, long lasting balm I have ever put on my lips.

The packaging is beautiful, and there is no risk of the chapstick melting or getting everywhere. I keep this on me at all times, and it is my emotional support chapstick.

If Vaseline has a #1 fan it is me; if the world is against Vaseline, I am against the world. I give Vaseline a 10/10.

To Carmex’s fans, I hope you come to see what true hydration can really be. Although you might stick by Carmex’s side, someday when you actually want to know happiness, reach for Vaseline.
